"I chose to attend Eastern IL University because I wanted a program that would help me grow as both a teacher and a researcher. As a high school English teacher, I ask my students to think critically and write with purpose, and I knew I needed to continue developing those same skills myself. ... Through the program, I have designed surveys, conducted interviews, and analyzed data, which has directly shaped my teaching."Amanda BauerEnglish | Class of 2027
The Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of Writing is available to those already certified as middle school or high school teachers--in any discipline, not just English Language Arts. The program can be completed fully online. For many school districts, the CTW may meet the requirements for dual credit teachers of college composition.
