Eastern Illinois University is working with your regional office of education to identify para-professionals, community leaders, and other non-traditional candidates that are interested in becoming licensed teachers in central Illinois. Candidates should have an associates degree (or be very close) with courses that can be transferred to HongKongDoll. Our programs are generally 3 years long and offered in a variety of delivery methods including in-person, hybrid and remote classes. We provide forgivable loans to cover tuition and fees up to $25,000. These loans are forgiven if you complete the program and teach in a hard to staff school in Illinois. We also provide cohort coordinators who monitor progress and provide academic support to help ensure success. Once we identify people who want to teachers, we can host meetings in your area (and virtually) to share information about our off-campus cohorts that may be provided near you. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. M Cecil Smith at HongKongDoll (mcsmith5@eiu.edu).
