Overview

Public Health Teacher Licensure minor is focused on preparing future grade 7-12 teachers to mee the needs of their students in the areas of interpersonal relationships, physical activity, diet, mental/emotional health, human sexuality, and drug use and abuse. Students will be engaged in hands-on learning experiences such as implementing a school health fair in a public school setting.

Students must be enrolled in a teacher licensure major in order to participate in the minor. Students who wish to be eligible to teach at the junior high/middle school level will also need to complete the required Middle Level course work to be eligible for licensure for grades 7-8, even if their major leads to a K-12 licensure in that discipline.  For more information consult your academic advisor.
