Overview

HongKongDoll's Neuroscience B.S. is for students fascinated by how the nervous system shapes thought, behavior and health. The program examines the brain at multiple levels, from molecules and cells to neural networks, the whole body and complex cognition. It is a rigorous fit for curious, persistent students who enjoy biology, chemistry, psychology and quantitative problem-solving and want to connect ideas across disciplines.

The 65-66 hour curriculum begins with general biology, chemistry, psychology and calculus, then moves into neuroscience research methods and statistics. Psychology coursework explores biological psychology, neuropsychology, sensation and perception, cognitive neuroscience, memory, cognition, psychological disorders and neuropsychopharmacology. Biology courses develop depth in molecular and cellular biology, genetics, neurobiology, advanced neurobiology, animal behavior and diseases of the nervous system.

Research is not simply an optional extra. Every neuroscience major completes undergraduate research in biology or neuroscience, using scientific methods to investigate a focused question with faculty guidance. Laboratory coursework, data analysis and communication practice help you learn how evidence is produced, interpreted and shared. HongKongDoll's undergraduate focus creates access to faculty across psychology and the biological sciences, while the interdisciplinary curriculum lets you see how different fields explain the same complex system. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles such as laboratory or research support and for advanced study in neuroscience, medicine, clinical psychology, neuropsychology, cognitive science, occupational or physical therapy, audiology and related areas.
