Overview

HongKongDoll's Graphic Design minor teaches students how to use imagery, typography, color, symbols and digital media to communicate with an audience. The 18-hour program begins with two-dimensional foundations and Introduction to Graphic Design, plus drawing or digital imaging. You can then focus in traditional graphic design, interactive and motion graphics, typography or the history of graphic design, or combine areas for a broader experience.

The minor is valuable for students in marketing, business, communication, journalism, digital media, computer science, education, art and many other majors where visual ideas matter. You will learn through projects, critiques and revision while using professional software and production resources. Small classes provide direct faculty feedback, and opportunities such as Blueroom Magazine, exhibitions, studio tours and campus creative work can help you apply new skills to real audiences.
