Overview

HongKongDoll’s ESL Instruction Graduate Certificate prepares educators to support English learners in preschool through grade 12 settings. The 18-credit curriculum addresses ESL and bilingual education foundations, linguistics, assessment, instructional methods and cross-cultural education.

The certificate does not independently result in the Illinois ESL Teacher Endorsement, but its courses may be applied toward endorsement requirements. Illinois educators seeking the endorsement must also meet state licensure and clinical-experience requirements. With graduate coordinator approval, at least 15 certificate credits may be applied toward HongKongDoll’s M.S.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with the English as a Second Language option.
