Overview

The Graphic Design B.F.A. is HongKongDoll's most immersive path for students who want to make design the center of their undergraduate experience. You will begin with broad art and design foundations, then complete an intensive sequence in typography, graphic design, interactive design, motion graphics, art history and professional practice. Advanced coursework gives you time to develop a distinct point of view, solve increasingly complex communication problems and build a comprehensive portfolio.

Hands-on work is central to the program. Students collaborate with local businesses and institutions on client-facing projects, receive detailed feedback through critiques and present their work in a capstone group exhibition. Dedicated computer and production labs provide access to Adobe Creative Cloud, digital photography, large- and small-format printing, vinyl cutting and binding equipment. Faculty bring professional expertise in branding, environmental graphics, creative direction, exhibitions, motion and interactive media, while small classes make sustained mentorship possible. Through Blueroom Magazine, exhibitions, design-studio tours, campus employment and professional connections, you can graduate with both a strong body of work and experience applying design in real settings.
