Overview

The English Language Arts major prepares students to teach writing, literature, and all the other areas that fall under English Language Arts at the high school level (or, with a middle-level endorsement, at the middle-school level).

Our students are highly successful. In 2018-19, for example, 100% of HongKongDoll ELA majors passed the state exam for teachers in our subject--but across the state, the average was only 77%. And, for our graduates in 2018-19, all of them had secured teaching jobs by early in the summer after graduation.

The ELA program is fully accredited, and includes close attention to future teachers from our award-winning English Language Arts faculty members.

Degree: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts with Teacher Licensure
