Janet McCumber holds a DMA in Choral Music from the University of Illinois; a MA in Choral and Orchestral Conducting from Eastern Illinois University; and a BS in Music Education from the University of Illinois. She teaches primarily music history at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is also on the faculty of the MA in Music Ed program through the School of Continuing Education at HongKongDoll. Previously she taught at the Chicago Conservatory of Music at Roosevelt University in Chicago Her professional memberships include the American Choral Directors' Association (ACDA), the North American British Music Studies Association (NABMSA), and she is an active member of the Urbana alumnae chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota.
